The NY Giants and their depleted offense aim to pull off an upset over the Miami Dolphins Sunday afternoon, without quarterback Daniel Jones

The NY Giants were dealt a significant blow Friday, when quarterback Daniel Jones was ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins, due to a neck injury that could leave him sidelined for multiple weeks.

An already sputtering offense that has struggled to find its footing in the ground-game and boasts the league’s worst red-zone percentage, turning to veteran backup quarterback Mike Glennon — with a depleted supporting cast around him, could make this an uphill battle for New York in South Beach.

Will Saquon Barkley bust out of his slump? Can Kenny Golladay finally catch his first touchdown pass of the season? What about Tua Tagovailoa, do the Giants have any answers for the streaky Miami Dolphins quarterback?

Here are three bold predictions, and a score pick for Sunday’s NY Giants vs. Miami Dolphins game

NY Giants bold prediction No. 1: Saquon Barkley rushes for over 100 yards for first time this season

Barkley hasn’t rushed for more than 60 yards, let alone eclipsed the century mark yet this season, but that could be on the verge of changing on Sunday afternoon in South Beach.

Miami enters Sunday as the No. 15 ranked rushing defense in the league, allowing an average of just under 105 rushing per game.

Last week against the Eagles, Barkley seemed to regain some of his explosiveness, even if his indecisiveness in the backfield and another week of shoddy offensive line play limited his upside.

Against Philadelphia, Barkley broke loose for a 32-yard gain, which was reminiscent of some of his vintage runs, prior to tearing his ACL in Week 2 of last season and suffering an ankle sprain in Week 5 this year.

The combination of Barkley starting to find his footing and the Dolphins’ generous rushing defense could lead to a breakout for the NY Giants’ star running back.
