NY Giants Takeaway #2: The Defense is Back to Playing to its Expectations & Will Keep the Team in Most Games
The NY Giants’ defense isn’t spectacular by any means but they have just found a way to get it done (for the most part) over the last couple of weeks.
Again this week, the defense gave the offense numerous chances to start drives with good field position and hopefully create some momentum. They had two sacks but otherwise did not create enough consistent pressure on Tua Tagovailoa.
The Giants played with some injuries at cornerback and they overcame it for the most part. Everything the Dolphins took was underneath and the Giants played a heavy zone scheme again.
When the defense is settled in, they can go toe to toe with any offense in the league most weeks. They’ve done well enough against the Bucs, the Chiefs, the Eagles, and now Miami.
Next week, New York faces the hot LA Chargers who just put up 41 points on the road and will be motivated to continue the show in LaLa Land.
