The NY Giants did not show up to play football in Los Angeles, getting blown out and dominated in all phases by the Chargers

The NY Giants are a mess.

New York has had no luck with injuries this season, but no team should look this bad all-around for a team that spent so much money in free agency this offseason.

The Giants have had numerous draft picks and they have boasted their confidence and ability to win now under Daniel Jones, Dave Gettleman, and Joe Judge’s guidance and leadership.

Sunday might have been rock bottom, a 37-21 loss to Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers, that was never even that close.

Nothing is working for NY for the second year in a row.

Daniel Jones is again hurt and hasn’t improved much on the field, Joe Judge’s coaching decisions can only be categorized as puzzling, and Dave Gettleman’s days as the NY Giants’ GM are numbered.

Mike Glennon isn’t doing Freddie Kitchens any favors in his case to take the interim label off his offensive coordinator role. The offense couldn’t move the ball enough, the defense didn’t get the stops they needed, and the special teams struggled.

Here are 3 Key Takeaways from the NY Giants loss to the Chargers:

Injuries are Killing the NY Giants All Over the Roster

The NY Giants’ injury list is longer than the Christmas wish list on Amazon right now. The NY Giants’ top defensive lineman is the newest name hurt on the team.

Unfortunately for the team, things didn’t get any better during their Week 14 game against the Chargers.

Leonard Williams injured his elbow and did not return to the game in the 3rd quarter. From there, the team ruled him out for the game amidst their losing struggles.

Williams appeared to get hurt at some point in the 3rd quarter. It’s unclear what happened but the medical staff didn’t want to take a chance and shut him down for the day. Williams is the team’s highest-paid defensive player and a leader on the defensive line.

Look for Williams’ elbow injury to be a storyline for the next few days. There will be information on his status as the night and week goes on. For now, the rotation of Dexter Lawrence, Austin Johnson, Raymond Johnson, and Danny Shelton will replace Leonard Williams in his absence.
