Pat Graham’s Defense & Joe Judge’s Special Teams didn’t come through this week.

Neither of the NY Giants’ special teams or defense made any positive impact in their loss in SoFi Stadium. Pat Graham runs the defense and Joe Judge helps on special teams so both men’s units need to be looked at here.

Neither unit stepped up to the occasion this week. Pharoah Cooper started it off with some ill-guided kick returns, the punt return team had no luck, and the punt team had a failed funk punt try. The Giants and Joe Judge talk about special teams too much and commit too much thought into their roster centered around special teams’ play. They look too unorganized, undisciplined, and unprepared on the field.

Much of the same can be said about the defense today. They were gashed on the ground, they couldn’t get enough pass breakups, they didn’t force any turnovers, and they didn’t get the stops they needed on 3rd down, 4th down, or in the red zone.

It was a performance that was worse than most this season, although much credit should be given to the Chargers and Justin Herbert. He absolutely carved the NY Giants’ defense all game long and marched the Chargers’ offense up and down the field. The Giants have far more questions than answers right now. All they can do is go back to the drawing board and get ready for Dallas coming to MetLife Stadium next week.

Hot. Giants should prioritize trading these players this offseason. light
