NY Giants running back Elijaa Penny got New York on the board on Sunday afternoon against the Los Angeles Chargers

NY Giants fullback Elijhaa Penny had a happy Los Angeles homecoming.

Penny, who has seen his role in the Giants‘ offense emerge as the offense seems to have found a renewed focus on two-back sets, opened the scoring for New York against the Chargers on Sunday.

With 1:33 remaining in the first quarter, and the NY Giants trailing 7-0, Penny hauled in a three-yard touchdown pass from Mike Glennon, to even the score.

A Los Angeles native, Penny entered Sunday afternoon’s game with 22 carries for 89 yards and a touchdown, but Sunday’s reception was only his fifth reception of the season.

Earlier Sunday afternoon, Penny’s brother — Seattle Seahawks halfback Rashaad Penny absolutely went off in a victory over the Houston Texans, rushing for a season-high 137 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Seattle’s 33-13 win.

Eli Penny could see his role continue to expand, especially if the NY Giants continue to struggle getting Saquon Barkley involved and productive in the ground attack in his fourth game back from an ankle injury.

Giants need to get these young players more snaps. light. Related Story
