As the final month of the NFL season approaches, the NY Giants should at least partially turn the page to looking ahead to 2022 and beyond

The NY Giants take on the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday afternoon, with postseason hopes that have quickly faded away over the past several weeks, which means turning at least one eye towards the future.

With the NY Giants sitting at 3-8 on the season with the chances of playoffs slipping away by the week, the Giants should begin to play some of the younger and lesser-used players on their roster to at least see what they can do.

Here are 5 under the radar NY Giants players who should see more snaps as the season comes to an end:

NY Giants CB Aaron Robinson:

With Darnay Holmes hitting IR, alongside Adoree’ Jackson likely being out this week due to an injury he sustained during a week 12 matchup against the Eagles, Aaron Robinson enters this week as the NY Giants CB2, only behind James Bradberry.

Robinson has only played in 5 games this season due to a core muscle surgery he had earlier in the year. While he did not play much throughout his first 3 games with the team, he has looked special in his last 2 games played.

In a week 12 matchup against the Eagles, Aaron Robinson played 63% of defensive snaps. Tallying 6 combined tackles, 1 QB hit, and only allowed 1 completed pass on 5 targets. Using his blazing speed to make life difficult for any receiver he covered.

In last weeks matchup against the Dolphins Aaron Robinson had to step up big time with Adoree’ Jackson being out with a quad injury. In this game Robinson played 100% of defensive snaps. Now while his coverage stats may not look nearly as impressive, allowing 6 completions on 8 targets, he still made some very nice plays. Including one that saved the NY Giants from what would have been a TD.

The NY Giants drafted Robinson in the 3rd round of the 2021 NFL draft. With the secondary being short-staffed with the loss of Holmes and Jackson, keep an eye out for what this kid can do. I for one, am very excited about Aaron Robinsons future in this league.
