Five NY Giants players have tested positive for COVID-19, as cases spike across the league and nationally
COVID-19 is once again playing a role in the stretch run of the NFL season, and the NY Giants had several players test positive for the virus this week, as cases spike around the league.
In addition to Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney testing positive on Monday, four more players were added to the NY Giants’ COVID-19/reserve list Wednesday.
NY Giants wide receiver John Ross, linebacker Oshane Ximines, linebacker Cam Brown, and cornerback Aaron Robinson all tested positive this week.
Meanwhile, NY Giants safety Xavier McKinney, who is unvaccinated is also a close contact, which puts his availability for Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys in doubt because he has repeatedly stated that he is not vaccinated.

The NFL and NFLPA are discussing amended protocols that could allow asymptomatic players who are vaccinated to return to action sooner than under current guidelines, which state that a player who is vaccinated must receive two negative tests within 24 hours before returning.
Meanwhile, unvaccinated players are automatically out for 10 days if they test positive for COVID-19.
As a result of the positive tests, the NY Giants moved to virtual meetings this week.
