This week, the NY Giants have had eight players test positive for COVID-19, but it sounds as though New York’s game against the Cowboys is on as scheduled

The NY Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys game scheduled for Sunday afternoon appears headed to being played as planned, multiple sources tell FanSided, even as the NFL moved to reschedule three games due to teams being impacted by the current COVID-19 surge.

Despite the NY Giants having eight players test positive for COVID-19 this week, including defensive backs Adoree’ Jackson, Aaron Robinson and J.R. Reed, with safety Xavier McKinney as an unvaccinated close contact, there have been “no conversations whatsoever” about postponing New York’s game.

Friday, amid the COVID-19 surge, the NY Giants canceled practice — holding a light walkthrough in the morning, and moved all meetings and media availability virtual.

The Giants and Cowboys are scheduled to square off at 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon, as the NFL moved to reschedule the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Football Team game to Tuesday night, the Cleveland Browns vs. Las Vegas Raiders game to Monday night at 5 p.m., and Rams vs. Seahawks potentially moving to Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the NY Giants are also dealing with a mini-outbreak of a flu-like illness that caused defensive back Steven Parker to miss Thursday’s practice.

Currently the NY Giants only have four healthy defensive backs on the active roster, which could lead to a slew of practice squad promotions or players playing out of position.

But, it sounds like they will be playing Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.
