The NFC East might have gotten more difficult for the NY Giants to compete in coming years, after Jalen Hurts led the Eagles to a win Thursday night over Washington

The NFC East is a division that has been in a state of flux for some time now. The range of issues varies for each time, but there can be a problem found when looking at each one.

But, following the Philadelphia Eagles’ victory Thursday night, with quarterback Jalen Hurts leading the charge, there might not be a team better suited around the league for a quick rebuild than the Eagles with three first-round picks, $15 million, and perhaps a quarterback on his rookie contract.

In the present, though, at the moment, the Dallas Cowboys are the only team that seems to be on a clear path to competing for Super Bowls.

As of today, Dallas sits at 10-4 and have a four-game lead on the division. They are also the only team with a winning record in the East.

Both the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Football team are leaning on the verge of mediocrity … At least this season.

Both Washington and the Eagles have pieces of their roster that are above average, but they also have pieces that are clearly holding them back. They are also on very different paths in terms of how they can make their rosters better.

And then there’s the Giants.

The NY Giants are the team that will undergo the most change in the near future. Whether it be roster changes or front office changes, there will be major changes happening with this team.

Let’s take a look at how each NFC East team could be different in 2022, and how it impacts the NY Giants’ future

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys could be the one NFC East team that undergoes the least amount of changes, if any at all. They have solidified their roster on both sides of the ball and are a clear threat to the entire NFL.

The current Cowboys team is riddled with a combination of both elite veterans and extremely talented young players. Wherever you look at this roster, there is star power. Their receiving core is elite with Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, and Michael Gallup leading the way. The duo of Dak Prescott and Ezekial Elliot is still producing at a high level.

The defense is headlined by Trevon Diggs, DeMarcus Lawrence, and star rookie Micah Parsons.

But, there is one major change that could be coming to this team.

Who will be calling this play for this offensive unit in 2022? Current offensive coordinator Kellen Moore could find himself as a head coach next season. If the Cowboys aren’t careful, he could walk into a position where he is able to lead his own squad.

Losing Kellen Moore would be detrimental to this team as a lot of their success could be attributed to him. He is the next “young offensive-minded” play-caller that has become so popular in today’s league and several teams will be fighting for the opportunity to have him become their next head coach.
