Preston Smith LB, Packers

The NY Giants have had their fair share of problems at linebacker in recent seasons, and nothing has changed this year. While it’s safe to assume that they’ll address the issue in the draft, adding a seasoned veteran in the final year of his deal could also be an option.

Preston Smith has been a solid edge rusher this season. Adding him to a defensive front that already has Azeez Ojulari, Leonard Williams, and Dexter Lawrence could be dangerous. He is fast around the edge and is able to consistently apply pressure to the QB. He has already racked up five sacks and has another five tackles for loss.

The former second-round pick is arguably on his way to having the best season of his career. The Packers could potentially try to sell high and move him before he leaves in free agency next off-season. A middle-round pick could be all it takes to grab Smith who would give some much-needed depth to this defensive front.
