DeVonta Smith is going to be a problem

It’s no secret, DeVonta Smith was at the top of the NY Giants’ draft board and would have been the selection at No. 11 overall, had the Eagles not sniped him one selection earlier, and performances like Sunday show how consequential that is going to be for this rivalry.

Smith, as he’s shown for much of the season, has incredible body control — as illustrated on a third quarter touchdown where he was able to keep both heels in bounds while falling out of bounds, and pulled down a 46-yard reception in tight coverage.

With game-breaking speed, an ability to work the sideline like a tightrope, and the fact that he’s only going to get better as his career goes along, facing Smith twice a season rather than playing him on their offense for 16 weeks is going to pose a problem for New York.
