DL Cameron Thomas, San Diego State

Similar to Chad Muma, Cameron Thomas puts up insane stats but is falling in the draft due to a lack of competition.

Cameron Thomas, 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds, uses his strength to absolutely dominate his competition.

In 13 games played this season, Cameron Thomas has tallied 12 sacks, 55 combined tackles, 21 QB hits, and 44 QB hurries. These numbers are absolutely absurd, but due to a lack of competition, they have been somewhat overlooked.

In some of the film I watched on Thomas, it seems he relies on his strength the majority of the time to get through his defenders. This can become a problem because it seems as if he relies on his strength too much which causes him to not rely on other pass rush moves. Simply attempting to bull rush every play will not work well in the NFL.

Something I really like out of Cameron Thomas is his burst and athleticism, these tools are a part of what allows him to dominate opposing offensive linemen. Thomas also has excellent hand placement which allows him to throw his competition around.

Cameron Thomas also has the ability to play multiple positions. One play he can lineup on the edge, the next on the interior, he is a true swiss army knife in terms of his area’s of production.

If Thomas can add a couple of pass rush moves to his bag the NY Giants have a chance to grab a steal with him in the mid-rounds.
