CB Alontae Taylor, Tennessee
With the NY Giants having huge cap issues heading into next season, it is unknown whether they will make changes in the secondary. If they do decide to make some moves I believe a good addition to replace someone would be cornerback Alontae Taylor out of Tennessee.
Coming in at 6’0, 193 pounds, Alontae Taylor is a great dual-threat corner, being able to work in both man and zone coverage. This is a great thing to have as an NFL prospect, as it means he can fit into most defensive systems.
Alontae Taylor has amazing awareness that, combined with his length, makes it easy for him to break up passes and snag interceptions. On the season Taylor has put up 58 combined tackles, four pass breakups, two interceptions, has allowed 29 receptions on 52 targets, and has only allowed one touchdown.
Taylor can provide solid production for the NY Giants if they were to select him. His awareness, length, and speed, give him all the tools he needs to have a chance to succeed in the NFL. It’s just a matter of if he can put it all together.
