Round 3, pick No. 79: TE Isaiah Likely, Coastal Carolina

With Evan Engram likely not returning to the NY Giants next season, the Giants will likely look to replace him through the draft, I believe a good candidate to replace Engram is Isaiah Likely out of Coastal Carolina.

With it being likely that the top two tight ends in this year’s draft in Trey McBride and Jalen Wydermyer will both be selected before the third round, I believe the next best prospect for the position is Isaiah Likely.

Coming in at 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds, Isaiah Likely broke out this season, tallying 59 receptions for 912 yards and 12 TD’s in 13 games played.

Something NY Giants fans will be excited to hear is that Likely only dropped one pass this season on 77 targets, this is a bit different than what fans have become accustomed to with Evan Engram.

Another aspect of Likely’s game that should excite NY Giants fans is his ability to block, gaining a 75.0 run-blocking grade.

Likely is a tremendous athlete, using this gift to become an elite route runner while also being a great open-field runner, Likely can truly do it all at the tight end position, having the potential to be a star for any team that drafts him.
