NY Giants OG, Will Hernandez:

With Will Hernandez’s contract expiring after this season, it is likely the NY Giants will move on from the former second-round pick.

This season has undoubtedly been Hernandez’s worst, with defenses attacking his inability to diagnose defensive stunts, Will Hernandez has allowed seven sacks, which ranks third among guards.

Hernandez started the season off decently, showing slight promise in the run game, however, this promise quickly faded away, as it seems defenses began to pick up on his weaknesses and attacked him.

As previously mentioned, Hernandez’s contract is set to expire after this season, when you combine that with the amount of guards that can replace Hernandez in this year’s draft (Zion Johnson, Ed Ingram, Lecitus Smith, etc.) it makes sense that the NY Giants draft Hernandez’s replacement and allow him to walk in free agency.

It has been quite disappointing to watch Will Hernandez decline since his rookie year, but as disappointing as it may be, no offensive lineman can make it in today’s NFL with Hernandez’s lack of an ability to diagnose defensive stunts.
