Round 1, #8: EDGE David Ojabo, Michigan

With the New York Giants’ 2nd pick in the top 10, let’s switch sides of the ball but stay within the trenches.

David Ojabo is a raw but potentially transcendent pass rusher. Ojabo only had one real season of college production but showed off his tantalizing physical gifts and freakish athletic ability.

His combination of size, speed, and raw power off the edge pops out on the Michigan defense. Ojabo only had one college tackle before this season, but he exploded in 2021. Ojabo’s 11 sacks, 12 tackles for a loss, and five forced fumbles were good enough to earn 1st-Team All-Big 10 honors and a spot on the All-American 2nd-Team.

Ojabo could provide a presence off the EDGE this New York Giants’ defense has sorely lacked for years. Pairing Ojabo with Ojulari and Leonard Williams could finally make an intriguing pass-rushing trio for the NY Giants.
