Round 3, #79 Overall: WR David Bell, Purdue

The New York Giants need upgrades with their receiving unit.

There’s too much uncertainty, injury concerns, and overall lack of consistency (and trust) with this receivers’ group right now.

They could stand to add another playmaker on the perimeter and David Bell from Purdue could be their guy. Bell is a three-year performer in college where he lit up the Big 10 twice for over 1,000 yards. Bell finished with 2,946 yards and 21 touchdowns in three years showing his game wasn’t an anomaly.

Bell twice earned 1st-Team All-Big 10 honors in consecutive seasons along with 2nd-team honors in 2019. He won the Big 10 Wide Receiver of The Year award this past season and he won the 2019 Big 10 Freshman of the Year award.

Bell has a proven pedigree and football background that should translate well to the pro level. He has intriguing size at 6’2, 210 pounds where he can be a mismatch used in the slot and on the outside in the Giants’ offense.
