Round 5, #141 Overall: RB James Cook, Georgia

TRADE: (The NY Giants trade their 6th round pick to move up in Round 5)

The New York Giants love their Georgia Bulldogs draft picks. The trend continues again into 2022.

James Cook would be a fun, exciting pick for the NY Giants. He is the younger brother of All-Pro running back, Dalvin Cook, and they look exactly like and play a similar style and brand of football.

Cook is equally impressive in the receiving game as he is prolific at toting the rock out of the backfield. Cook has improved each year in Athens and he’s become a focal part of the Bulldogs’ offense in 2021. He is one of the leading figures on the Bulldogs’ National Championship-bound roster.

He is a hard-nosed runner who can run both inside and outside the line of scrimmage and he can make plays all over the field. Cook would provide another insurance option in case Saquon Barkley never returns to his 2018-2019 form. Adding Cook to a backfield with Barkley and Booker or somebody else would round out a solid trio of running backs to work with for 2022.

Trending. Three players who proved in 2021 they can be Giants' building blocks. light
