Now that the NY Giants’ 2021 season is over, it’s never too early to look ahead to the 2022 NFL season
Finally, the NY Giants’ 2021 season, the ninth in the past decade that ends without a trip to the NFL Playoffs, has reached its conclusion. Mercifully.
Following Sunday’s season finale against the Washington Football Team, it’s never too early to look ahead to next season, which will follow what promises to be an offseason of change in East Rutherford.
The order of the Giants‘ opponents won’t be known for months, but we do know who New York will face during the 2022 NFL season.
While the order has yet to be determined, and won’t be known until the NFL schedule release later this spring, here are the NY Giants’ 2022 opponents:
Home: Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Football Team, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, at Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers
Away: Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Football Team, Seattle Seahawks, Tennessee Titans, Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, Green Bay Packers
Next season’s slate features a couple of compelling matchups, in the crossover games against opponents that also finished last place in their division, as the NY Giants did in the NFC East.
Presuming the Carolina Panthers don’t fire Matt Rhule, 2022 will mark the first meeting between New York and Rhule, who was scheduled to interview for the Giants’ vacancy but just before boarding a plane to East Rutherford was hired by the Panthers.
Likewise, next season will mark the fifth consecutive season that the NY Giants have faced the Chicago Bears.
The 2022 NY Giants schedule also features dates against five teams that made the NFL Playoffs in 2021, including the NFC’s No. 1 seeded Green Bay Packers and the AFC’s Tennessee Titans.
