3) Washington Football Team
The Washington Football Team entered the season with high expectations, thanks to a swarming front-seven, and the anticipation that veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick could do enough to let playmakers like Terry McLaurin and Antonio Gibson lift the offense.
Unfortunately, for Washington, Fitzpatrick suffered a season-ending injury in a Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, and All-Pro defensive end Chase Young would also finish the season injured reserve, after tearing his ACL in November.
Washington will have a new name in February, and general manager Martin Mayhew has just under $60 million in cap space to build out the roster this offseason.
Whatever Washington is called next season, will have a young core featuring arguably the most gifted front-seven in the NFL, several young playmakers, and will be in the mix for the top veteran quarterbacks available on the open market to perhaps make a real run at the postseason in 2022.
