Middle Linebacker

The New York Giants linebacker core lacks the necessary depth it takes to be elite.

Starting middle linebacker Blake Martinez was lost early on in the year and since then, this position has been a problem.

Tae Crowder has played well at times but is still yet to prove that he can be an elite linebacker. Outside of Crowder, none of the current players at the position have stood out. This has led to the Giants bringing in players such as Jaylon Smith just to help keep the team afloat.

Even if the Giants choose to not move on from Martinez, adding depth is something that they must do. While they have found solid young players to come off the edge in both Azeez Ojulari and Quincy Roche, they need to find players who can produce at middle linebacker.
