Caldwell has the track record and temperament to build the kind of success that Joe Judge talked about building.

During his time with the Indianapolis Colts, Caldwell reached a Super Bowl and made the postseason, which is the kind of heights have reached only twice in the past decade.

In an organization that has now fired three consecutive head coaches after two years or fewer, Caldwell has the chance to be a stabilizing force, after compiling a 62-50 record across six seasons as head coach of the Colts and Detroit Lions, making the postseason four times.
