New York Giants’ ideal interview list to replace Joe Judge, including Doug Pederson
3) Patrick Graham
The New York Giants’ approach of searching outside the organization for a general manager, and presumably a new philosophy, could hurt Patrick Graham’s candidacy for head coach.
However, Graham is viewed by executives inside the league as a rising star by current and former NFL executives and seemingly got maximum effort out of the Giants’ defense despite myriad injuries over the past two seasons.
One hurdle for Graham becoming the next head coach of the New York Giants, despite his value to the organization, is the fact that in today’s NFL it is teams with high powered offenses that have the best chance at competing for postseason berths and the Super Bowl. Unless Graham has an elite offensive coordinator candidate lined up, his defensive backround could be a hinderance, after the New York Giants’ pair of dreadful seasons on offense the past two years.
Graham’s adaptability in terms of scheme to his personnel will make him an attractive candidate this hiring cycle, even if it’s not with the New York Giants.
