Quarterback Marcus Mariota

It has been made very clear that the Giants are in need of a stronger QB2. Through Daniel Jones first three seasons in the NFL, he has missed 10 games and has dealt with multiple injuries. When Jones went down this season, current back-up quarterback Mike Glennon unfortunately wasn’t able to keep this team afloat.

Marcus Mariota may be the perfect candidate for this team. With both a new head coach and a new general manager coming to the team, there is still no indication of whether or not Daniel Jones will still be the starter on this team. But regardless, Mariota would be a good option to bring in.

If the Giants do choose to move on from Jones, Mariota could get one last opportunity to be a starter in the NFL. At just 28 years old, Mariota still has years of football ahead of him. He could also serve as a bridge quarterback if the Giants select someone in this year’s draft.

The former second-overall pick has played well when called upon in recent years. While only throwing two passes this season, Mariota has still found a spot within the current Las Vegas Raiders offense. He has proven that he is still able to make plays with his legs and is still a threat whenever he steps onto the field.

If the Giants do choose to stick with Jones, Mariota could serve as a high-quality backup. As noted, Jones has dealt with injuries and having someone of Mariota’s quality would help lessen the blow if Jones were to miss time.
