Hire a competent Head Coach

With many desirable names like Brian Flores, Brian Daboll, Jim Harbaugh, and Jim Caldwell being available, the new GM will have a variety of options to decide upon as the next head coach of the New York Giants.

However, whoever they hire must prove they are worthy of a head coaching job early on, as the NY Giants have not had a successful head coach since Tom Coughlin.

While some of the lack of success can be put on the lack of talent on the team, coaching has still been a major problem, especially as of late.

There is a lot of value with a new general manager opting to hire a more experienced head coach, as it is a safe bet to make that they will be able to turn the team around faster than a non-experienced head coach. Especially if they decide to hire one of Flores or Caldwell, two coaches who have proven they can take mediocre teams to the playoffs.
