The New York Giants interviewed Kansas City Chiefs executive Ryan Poles, for a second time Wednesday, for the team’s general manager vacancy

The New York Giants continued second-round of interviews with finalists for the team’s general manager vacancy Wednesday, interviewing Kansas City Chiefs executive director of player personnel Ryan Poles.

Poles‘ interview with the Giants comes on the heels of an interview with the Minnesota Vikings, for their general manager opening, and ahead of the Chiefs’ Sunday night clash against the Buffalo Bills with a trip to the AFC Championship at stake.

One of the hottest commodities this hiring cycle, Poles joined the Chiefs in 2009 and has climbed up the ranks of the front office in Kansas City since being hired as a personnel assistant.

Working alongside general manager Brett Veech, Poles has been instrumental in turning the Kansas City Chiefs into a model franchise, that is playing for its third consecutive trip to the AFC Championship Game this weekend.

Poles joins Buffalo Bills assistant general manager Joe Schoen as the only two known finalists, thus far, for the New York Giants’ general manager position, vacated by Dave Gettleman’s retirement last week. Schoen interviewed with owner John Mara, Steve Tisch, and Chris Mara on Tuesday.
