For all intents and purposes, Anarumo’s candidacy for the New York Giants’ and other head coaching vacancies was boosted dramatically by the Bengals’ performance Saturday afternoon against the Tennessee Titans in the divisional round of the AFC Playoffs.

Saturday afternoon in Tennessee, Anarumo’s Bengals intercepted Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill three times, and sacked him once, in the kind of performance that powered Cincinnati to finish 17th in scoring defense this past season.

Anarumo’s familiarity with ownership could prove a positive, as could his ties to Schoen from their time together with the Miami Dolphins.
