New York Giants Edge, Azeez Ojulari

Georgia edge rusher Azeez Ojulari slipped to the New York Giants in the second round of the 2021 draft. Many times stayed away from the prospect due to his injury history.

The Giants decided to take a gamble on Ojulari, and it could be a decision that impacts this team for a long time.

While Ojulari was the Giants’ second selection of the draft, up to this point he has been the most impactful. Throughout his rookie season, he made several big-time plays. He made his presence felt early on and at times, looked like he could be the best rusher on this team.

Ojulari made his presence felt from day one. In his first game with the Giants, he recorded one sack, three tackles, and one tackle for loss. From this point on, he never truly slowed down.

Ojulari appeared in all 17 games for the Giants this season. Ojulari played 781 snaps, the most of any edge rusher in this year’s draft. He finished the year with 41 tackles and one forced fumble. He also reached 10 sacks, which was the 17th most in the NFL and the third most of any defensive rookie.

If Ojulari can continue to improve, he could become the best player on this New York Giants defensive line. He has proven that he has the ability to make a difference and should continue to make big plays for this defense.
