CB Taron Johnson: 2018 NFL Draft, round 4 pick No. 121

This might be the best mid to late-round pick of Joe Schoen’s career with the Bills as Taron Johnson broke out as a very solid defensive back this season.

In 16 games played this season, Taron Johnson tallied 76 combined tackles, 1 interception, 3 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 7 pass deflections, while only allowing 38 receptions on a 55.1% completion percentage for 396 yards and 2 TD’s.

Taron Johnson also had a grade of 69.6, per PFF, the highest out of all of the Buffalo Bills CB’s, even higher than superstar Tre’Davious White

In his first full season as a starter Taron Johnson showed out in the best way possible, showing that he can be elite in both coverage and tackling in the open field, this is not something that every CB possesses.

While the New York Giants are not necessarily in need of secondary this off-season, the fact that Joe Schoen was able to draft such a great player in the 4th round should have every NY Giants fan very excited.
