Round 3, pick No. 81: EDGE Derrick Hall, Auburn

With the New York Giants’ pass rush struggling this season, it is likely they look to improve upon it through the draft, a good candidate to put next to sophomore Azeez Ojulari is Derick Hall out of Auburn.

Coming in at 6-foot-3 and 251 pounds, Hall dominated this season for Auburn, using his elite speed and athleticism, tallying 39 combined tackles, 10 sacks, 8 QB hits 25 QB hurries, 2 forced fumbles, and 12 tackles for loss in 13 games played.

Hall has a deadly combination of speed and athleticism that he uses to abuse opposing offensive linemen off the edge, however, he lacks in other areas that have caused him to be inconsistent at times.

For example, Hall lacks in strength, this is a problem because if he is rushing a lineman straight up, there are several times in which he is stood up and taken out of the play.

Another issue Hall has is that he lacks consistency with his pass rush moves, which means that if he gets caught around the edge he has the tendency to lose his matchup.

However, Hall’s elite speed and athleticism on the edge and rushing inside gives him the potential to be a cornerstone of the New York Giants’ pass-rush.
