6th round, pick No. 181: DB Josh DeBerry, Boston College

You can never have enough help in the secondary.

Coming in at 5-foot-11 and 176 pounds, Josh DeBerry had himself a very solid season at Boston College as a slot cornerback, tallying 56 combined tackles, 2 interceptions, 3 pass deflections, and 1 forced fumble, all while only allowing 23 receptions on a 52.3% completion percentage for 248 yards and 1 TD in 10 games played this season.

DeBerry possesses great reaction time and awareness for a corner, which is something the New York Giants could use.

Out of the 10 games DeBerry played in this season, there were 4 games in which he allowed a completion percentage below 50%, including a very impressive game against UMASS where he only allowed 2 completions on 8 targets.

DeBerry has plenty of tools that are needed to be a successful corner in the NFL, if these tools can translate, there’s a very good chance he becomes a solid NFL player.

Hot. Free agents with ties to Brian Daboll Giants must target. light
