2018 NFL Draft: Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming/Buffalo Bills

Not satisfied with Tyrod Taylor, the Buffalo Bills decided to pick QB Josh Allen out of Wyoming with the 7th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, and boy do the Bills look like geniuses for taking Allen so high.

At the time of the Draft, some questioned the Bills’ decision to draft Josh Allen so high. While Allen had all the physical capabilities to be a great QB, he lacked in several other areas, and with Josh Rosen still on the board, many thought the Bills would go for Rosen. Thank goodness they didn’t, as Allen is just finishing up his second consecutive MVP-caliber season while Rosen is barely hanging on to a spot in the league.

While Allen certainly did not have the best start to his career, completing only 52% of his passes for 2074 yards, 10 TD’s and 12 interceptions, Allen showcased immense potential during this season.

Something that immediately stood out with Josh Allen was his physical capabilities, not only did Allen possess one of the deadliest arms in the NFL right out of the gate, he also had an elite ability to run the ball, rushing for 631 yards and 8 TD’s his rookie season.

It has only been uphill for Allen, who made his first Pro-Bowl last season and arguably should have made one this season.

Allen has truly blossomed into one of the best QB’s in the entire NFL over the last two seasons, throwing for over 4,000 yards and 35 TD’s while rushing for over 400 yards and 5 TD’s in consecutive seasons.
