Area #2: Route combinations and passing game adjustments

Daboll has a great feel for how to break down and rip apart opposing defenses. The New York Giants were badly outcoached by their offensive coaching staff the last two seasons under Garrett and Judge.

They seemingly had no plan, no identity, and no success on a consistent basis. It ultimately led to both men losing their jobs in bad fashion with Garrett’s firing coming in-season after an MNF loss and Judge being fired after an embarrassing sequence of ‘waving the white flag’ football with QB sneaks on the team’s own goal-line.

Daboll should infuse a bevy of new passing concepts and route combinations to adjust to the NY Giants’ personnel and make them a more functional, in-rhythm unit. Daboll has a knack for maximizing the talent of his playmakers on offense and finding mismatches or opportunities to win key matchups for his guys.

Daboll should fix the Giants’ quick passing game while simultaneously taking more shots downfield and acting in a more aggressive manner on offense.  Also, look for much more usage of play-action passes. This should help optimize Daniel Jones’ talents and overall skillset. With better play up front, Jones could unlock the potential many have been patiently waiting to consistently see from the team’s upcoming 4th-year QB.
