Eli Manning has simple advice for New York Giants coach Brian Daboll
Eli Manning believes that the New York Giants’ offense must be a priority for new GM Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll
The New York Giants have made the postseason just once over the past decade, are coming off five consecutive double-digit losing seasons, but a clean slate provided by the hiring of new general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll could give reason for optimism.
The quarterback responsible for the Giants‘ two most recent Super Bowl championships and playoff appearance, in 2016, has some simple advice for New York’s new power brokers.
"“Just get the right players in there,” Manning said, during an appearance on The The Great Dane Podcast. ‘That’s just going to change the culture, get the culture where it needs to be, and get guys that are just all in on winning. Got to be able to score more points offensively.”"
Obviously, with the New York Giants currently sitting $10 million over the salary cap as this offseason begins, there won’t be any quick fixes to what has ailed the offense in recent seasons.
Over the past two years, the New York Giants averaged just 15.2 points per game in 2021, and 17.5 points per game in 2020, the 31st ranked offense across both seasons.
But, the New York Giants are betting on Daboll’s ability to accelerate Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen’s development and oversee an offense that finished in the top-five each of the past two seasons yielding similar results with Jones in East Rutherford.
