James Cook, Georgia

As James Cook enters the league, he will be known by the majority as being Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook’s younger brother, but he is much more than that.

Cook is an explosive runner who can make a play whenever the ball is in his hands. While at Georgia, Cook was used heavily in both the rushing game and passing game.

Over his first three collegiate seasons, Cook primarily served as a rotational piece within the backfield. Throughout his first 31 career games, Cook accounted for 1221 total yards and nine touchdowns on 157 total touches.

During Cooks’s final collegiate season, he was given a much larger role within the Georgia offense. He finished his final collegiate season with 728 rushing yards, 284 receiving yards, and 11 touchdowns. He caught 27 passes and averaged 10.5 yards per reception.

He finished his season with a strong performance against Alabama in the national championship game, including a 67-yard run.

Cook could serve as the perfect fit behind Saquon Barkley on this Giants offense. He excels at getting into space and can handle nearly and can take on anyone one-on-one. Due to his speed, opposing linebackers will have a hard time keeping up with him, specifically in the passing game.

Given the opportunity to make a play, Cook can turn any touch into a touchdown. A one-two punch of Barkley and Cook could be dominant given the offensive line can hold their own.
