No. 6: OT Bernhard Raimann, Central Michigan University

Bernhard Raimann is one of the most interesting prospects in this years draft class, while he is new to football and the offensive line, he is already 25. While this is something I am not too worried about, as he has all of the physical tools it takes to be successful, alongside his showcased ability to improve.

Coming in at 6-foot-7 and 305 pounds, Bernhard Raimann had himself a dominant season at Central Michigan, obtaining a pass blocking grade of 88.7, alongside a run blocking grade of 94.6 per, PFF.

Something that’s easy to notice while watching some of Raimann’s film is how deadly his hands can be at times, similar to both Kenyon Green and Zion Johnson, Bernhard Raimann’s hands are probably his best gift, as once he latches on, its game over.

However, despite his massive frame and hand technique, there are some areas in which Raimann struggles. For example while he has a massive frame and size, he does not seem like the strongest tackle compared to what he should be, this could become an issue against certain body types in the NFL. Outside of that, there are several small things that could be fixed about Raimann’s technique.

Bernhard Raimann’s age and experience in football make him a very interesting tackle to consider drafting, while he has shown flashes of tremendous play, his issues with strength and technique may take some time to fix, and with his age, it may be questionable to draft a player who could be considered a “project” at 25 years old. However, his skillset and size as they are right now can be considered enough to be worth drafting him in the first round.
