No. 4: OT Charles Cross, Mississippi State University

Charles Cross is a prospect who has really grown on me recently. While at first glance it’s easy to question his potential at the next level, but after watching more of his film I’ve come to understand why he is such a highly touted prospect.

Coming in at 6’5, 310 pounds, Charles Cross had himself a breakout season this year, massively improving in all categories, gaining a pass blocking grade of 84.9, alongside a run blocking grade of 87.2 per, PFF. However, Cross’ run blocking grade can become tricky, as he did not have many opportunities in that area due to Mississippi State’s air raid offense.

This, however, should not deter your opinion on Charles Cross, as his abilities show just how deadly he can be as a blocker.

For being as large as he is, Charles Cross moves extremely well in terms of smoothness in both run and pass blocking snaps, using this, alongside his elite balance, Cross makes life difficult for opposing defenders.

The only true negative about Charles Cross is that he can sometimes get beat off of stutter moves. However I am not too worried about this, as Charles Cross has shown an ability to improve upon his skillset, so I truly believe he will be able to define his skills and become a star in this league.
