The New York Giants, led by new general manager Joe Schoen, could go shopping for value in the middle rounds and find plenty of talent waiting for them in the NFL Draft

The New York Giants own nine picks in this year’s NFL Draft, including two third-round picks, a fourth-round pick, and two fifth-round picks, meaning the Giants have plenty of potential to draft a star player with one of those picks.

This year’s draft class is very deep in talent, with their being potential stars available in all rounds. Especially in rounds 3-5.

Whether it be a defensive stud or an offensive player with tons of potential, if the New York Giants swing at the right player, they could potentially hit a home run.

Here are 3 mid-to-late round prospects who could turn out to be diamonds in the rough for the New York Giants:

LB Chad Muma, Wyoming:

Coming in at 6-foot-3 and 242 pounds, Chad Muma put up some insane stats this season at Wyoming, tallying 142 total tackles, two sacks, three interceptions, eight tackles for loss, and 17 QB hurries.

While these stats may be ridiculous, it is worth noting the competition Muma faced this season, with Wyoming not playing a single top-25 team this season.

However, this should not deter your interest in Muma, as watching his film shows you just how good Muma is.

Whether it’s his ability to diagnose run plays and make tackles at the line of scrimmage or before, his flashes of potential in pass coverage, or even his ability to detach himself from blockers, there are very few things Muma can’t do.

Gaining comparisons to Sean Lee and Dont’a Hightower, Muma has been slept on a lot in this draft class.

If Muma falls to the New York Giants in the third round, he’s a player that Joe Schoen should run the card to the commissioner to pick, as he has the potential to be an absolute steal at that spot.
