Round 2, pick No. 37: Jaquan Brisker, S, Penn State

Jaquan Brisker is one of the more versatile safeties in this year’s class, who has the instincts to play center field in coverage but also the willingness and ferocity to be a dominant run-stopping or blitzing defender up near the line of scrimmage.

Brisker was one of the most vocal leaders of the Penn State defense, and a consistent playmaker during his time in Happy Valley.

Last season, Brisker produced a career-high 63 total tackles with two interceptions, five pass breakups, and one fumble recovery.

Given the New York Giants’ need in the secondary, and Martindale’s propensity for moving his safeties around the board like a chess piece, it’s easy to see Brisker sliding into a starting role alongside former second-round pick Xavier McKinney.
