Round 6, pick No. 183: Reggie Roberson, Jr., WR, SMU

Multiple reports out of Indianapolis suggest the New York Giants have asked Sterling Shepard to take a paycut. Likewise, it would seem Darius Slayton is an ideal candidate to dangle on the trade market this offseason, both to recoup an asset and create cap space by moving on from the former third-round pick.

If either Shepard or Slayton aren’t on the New York Giants’ roster this fall, wide receiver gets pushed up the organization’s hierarchy of need.

Reggie Roberson is an intriguing prospect from a program that likes to spread the ball around in the vertical passing game.

Injuries robbed Roberson from having the kind of production that would lift his draft stock, but two years ago he proved he has the ability to be a dynamic playmaker in the Mustangs’ offense.

A smooth route-runner with reliable hands, it isn’t difficult to see Roberson pushing for snaps immediately as a rookie.
