Foyesade Oluokun, Linebacker

PFF Projected Deal: 4 yrs — $10m avg/yr

Atlanta Falcons linebacker Foyesade Olukun is one of the more intriguing players to hit free agency this offseason.

While he doesn’t excel in any given area, Oluokun is a solid piece that can play in different areas across the defense.

Oluokun has been one of the worst-rated linebackers according to PFF, but he has also been on a Falcons defense that has struggled often in recent years. He finished the 2021 season with a 45.8 overall grade. This put him as the 67th linebacker out of 87.

When looking at individual stats, Olokum has been among the game’s best. Oluokun finished first in the NFL in total tackles last season with 192. He racked up 102 solo tackles and assisted on a league-high 90. He also recorded four tackles for loss.

Oluokun has also made his presence felt in causing turnovers. Throughout 64 career games, he has recorded five interceptions and has forced seven fumbles. He has also defended 11 passes, with a career-high six over the last season.

Given the freedom to move around on defense, Oluokum could prove to be a great addition. A pairing of him and veteran linebacker Blake Martinez could also prove to be interesting considering how they are both known to rack up tackles. Locking up a young, but talented linebacker would be a great addition to this defense.
