Former New York Giants’ DL B.J. Hill cashes in with Cincinnati Bengals
Former New York Giants draft pick and defensive linemen received a substantial commitment from the Cincinnati Bengals ahead of NFL free agency
Last summer’s trade from the New York Giants to the Cincinnati Bengals couldn’t have worked out much better for B.J. Hill.
Hill, originally chosen by the Giants in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, was dealt as part of the trade that brought center Billy Price to East Rutherford last summer, made it to his first Super Bowl last month and is now one of the higher paid players at his position.
News of Hill’s signing was first reported by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network
Monday, as the NFL’s legal tampering period began, the Cincinnati Bengals signed Hill to a three-year contract worth $30 million, including $15 million this upcoming season.
Hill certainly found a home along the Bengals’ defensive line, producing 44 total tackles and matching a career-high 5.5 sacks, previously set during his rookie campaign with the New York Giants.
As it turns out, Price — a former first-round pick — was wildly inconsistent in his first season with the Giants, as Hill had a career-year for the AFC Champion Bengals.
Prior to being traded last summer, Hill produced 116 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks in his three seasons in a New York Giants uniform.
