Tyrod Taylor

Tyrod Taylor could very well be the most underrated quarterback in this year’s free-agent group.

At 32-years old, it is understandable why people are choosing to count Taylor out. But given an opportunity, he could step up and play well for a team that needs him.

Nearly everyone knows the storied career of Taylor. His unfortunate injury history often costing him starting jobs is a constant throughout his career.

But when Taylor is healthy and ready to go, he has been better than a fair share of other quarterbacks. In 53 career regular season-starts, Taylor posted a winning record of 26-25-1.

He has 79 career games under his belt since entering the league in 2011. He has also been a starter on more than one occasion.

Taylor has recorded 12,908 yards from scrimmage and 78 total touchdowns throughout his career. He has also been fairly good at not turning the ball over, having accounted for just 40 career turnovers.

The dual-threat that comes with a player such as Taylor is what makes this potential pairing so intriguing. There is a big play capability whenever he steps onto the field due to what he can do on the ground. He has surpassed 2000 rushing yards throughout his career.

The ground threat will make him a perfect fit for a Brian Daboll-led offense. Given Daniel Jones isn’t able to go at any point, having a player like Taylor will allow for the offense to remain mostly the same even with a change in quarterback. At his age, Taylor could be signed for a cheaper deal than some of the other free agent quarterbacks in this group.
