Reports suggest it is far more likely the New York Giants trade James Bradberry than release him, as the new league year begins

The New York Giants aren’t just going to give cornerback James Bradberry away.

Bradberry, arguably the Giants‘ most consistent defender, has been the persistent subject of trade rumors as Wednesday’s opening of the new NFL league-year approached, and $2 million of his salary becomes guaranteed for the 2022 campaign. Some had even suggested Bradberry could be on the chopping block.

However, according to a report from NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the New York Giants have no pans to release Bradberry.

Which teams may be interested in New York Giants cornerback James Bradberry?

There’s the chance that Bradberry could be a commodity as the cornerback free agent market dries up, especially in the suddenly loaded AFC West where the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos could each stand to bolster their secondary with the likes of Justin Herbert and Derek Carr now also residing in the division.

The Raiders could be a team to watch, even after acquiring former Colts defensive back Rock Ya-Sin in a trade Wednesday, especially because former New York Giants defensive coordinator Patrick Graham holds the same role in Las Vegas.

Bradberry finished last season with 57 total tackles and four interceptions, far and away the Giants’ top cornerback.
