New York Giants Mock Draft: Kayvon Thibodeaux

Summary

This mock draft saw the Giants add 13 players to the roster, with five coming on defense and eight on offense.

New York would likely plug three players directly into their lineup: Thibodeaux, Charles Cross, and Nik Bonitto. Kerby Joseph would battle for a starting job. Others would see situational use.

Compared to last week’s New York Giants mock draft, this one perhaps has a little less flair. There’s no seventh round flyer on a wide receiver who runs a 4.21 40, or 6’7 tight end with a crazy catch radius. But it’s full of quality picks who should fit into the scheme nicely.

The biggest difference, though, is how the top of the draft fell. Last week, there was not an EDGE rusher on the board when the Giants picked 5th and 7th, but a pair of stud lineman fell. This time they got Thibodeux and Cross, spreading that draft capital out across the offense and defense.

I’m not sure what the preference should be, but at the end of the day, you can’t reach and the Giants should be situated nicely to get two rookies they can immediately plug in at positions of need without straying from a best player available strategy.

Stay tuned for another New York Giants mock draft next week!
