Quarterback

Key loss: Mike Glennon

Key addition: Tyrod Taylor

If anyone saw even a quarter of a game from the last quarter of the 2021 New York Giants season, it was painfully obvious this team needed an upgrade at backup quarterback behind Daniel Jones.

Given Jones’ mediocrity to date, and this regime’s experience with Tyrod Taylor with the Buffalo Bills, would it be the least bit surprising if Taylor is given the chance to compete for the starting job this summer?

Even if Jones is the New York Giants’ starting quarterback come September, Taylor brings experience in the scheme and has proven capable of winning games in this league, should Jones go down with another injury.

Plus, because Taylor signed a two-year deal, if Jones underachieves, again, and the Giants go in a different direction at quarterback next year, Taylor is an ideal bridge-starter to a rookie in 2023.

Verdict: Better
