Round 2, pick No. 36: Jaquan Brisker, S, Penn State

Jaquan Brisker is one of the more versatile safeties in this year’s draft class and has shown an ability not just to be a playmaker in coverage, but a legitimate weapon rushing the passer and in run-support near the line of scrimmage.

That sort of skill-set wouldn’t just make Brisker an ideal complement to the Giants’ young ballhawk, Xavier McKinney, but potentially a perfect fit for how Martindale deploys his safeties.

During Penn State’s pro day this week, Brisker ran the 40-yard dash in 4.40 seconds at 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds.

One of the Nittany Lions‘ most respected leaders, Brisker does an outstanding job of making diagnosing and reacting to plays and is an asset in run-support.

Last season, Brisker produced 63 total tackles, with two interceptions, five pass breakups, and one forced fumble.

Continuing to collect playmakers on defense would be a wise decision for Schoen and the Giants.
