As always when it comes to any profession you’re in, the veterans that are there, the ones with seniority and many stories to share, always have wisdom worth listening to. Such is the case with veteran wide receiver Kenny Golladay who wanted to drop some knowledge to everyone in the locker room of the NY Giants.

With voluntary minicamp starting for Big Blue this week, all eyes were on who showed up and especially on who didn’t. Let’s face it, the truth of the matter is that during the long offseason, things are boring until the regular season is here. Sure, we have the 2022 NFL Draft that’s coming up at the end of April but until then, all eyes are on what’s going on at minicamp for now.

In case you didn’t know, wide receiver Kadarius Toney is a no-show in minicamp. Now, he may very well show up at some point but for now, he’s not there with the rest of his teammates who wanted to get a headstart on the new season ahead.

Kenny Golladay believes everyone should be at NY Giants’ voluntary minicamp

In an article written by Zack Rosenblatt of NJ.com, Golladay wisely sent a message to everyone on the Giants when he responded to a question about the importance of attending voluntary minicamp:

"“I mean, I guess you could say that’s how much it means to me, especially coming off last season” Golladay said after Wednesday’s practice. “I feel like the whole team is just trying to start off on a good note. Everyone should definitely be here.”"

Now, this isn’t a direct shot at Toney or anything as he’s not the only player that isn’t there but in the grand scheme of things, it’s great to see Golladay chime his thoughts about this topic. This isn’t mandatory minicamp or anything but considering the Giants are coming off a terrible 4-13 season, it’s a good look if you’re a player to be there and start getting to work.

There will be a plethora of new coaches and faces on the Giants this upcoming season and with a new offensive coordinator in Mike Kafka, one can only imagine they’ll be a lot to work on between now and the start of the regular season. This is on top of a brand new head coach in Brian Daboll as well who will bring a new influence and impact across the entire franchise.

light. Hot. NY Giants have received calls regarding James Bradberry

Golladay’s message to everyone on the Giants should resonate well with those in attendance and for players that are not, serves as a kind reminder that it’s best to start sooner rather than later. It’s all about redemption for the Giants as everyone has something to work on at this time of year and it just makes sense to simply get back to work. Most importantly of all, getting back to work together as team.
