Once the pick was in, fans of the NY Giants were pretty vocal with their displeasures that in Round 2, they selected wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson out of Kentucky. It’s definitely a weird selection and one that was straight out of left field as not many fans predicted they would go this route. On paper, there is nothing that truly stands out to what Robinson would bring to the table that the Giants already don’t currently have on the roster.
Of course, the football world won’t know how Robinson pans out with the Giants as obviously, the scouts and new general manager Joe Schoen know a lot more about why they selected him than fans on the internet. For all Giants fans know, Robinson can indeed turn out to be a very good wide receiver for many years to come but based on what he did in college, the road towards stardom won’t be easy.
At the end of the day, everyone will have their opinions on whether or not a draft pick is good or bad. The real measuring stick will come after three years from now to see if Robinson adjusted well to life in the NFL or if he’ll be on the outside looking in.
NY Giants fans are not happy with Wan’Dale Robinson pick
Twitter is the place to be when it comes to sports chat and well, Giants Nation is very well represented on the social media network. Right off the bat Giants fans made it known that they did not like this pick at all, especially because other top players were available for the taking.
At any rate, take a look below at all the immediate responses once this pick became official for the Giants. Here’s to hoping we’re all wrong but it can’t be helped to feel that someone like tight end Trey McBride or even linebacker Nakobe Dean would have been better choices with the No. 43 overall pick in this year’s draft.
