The 2022 NFL Draft’s best top offensive line prospect has found himself in New York. With the seventh overall pick, the NY Giants added their right tackle of the future in Alabama’s Evan Neal. Neal was a force while at Alabama, regularly destroying opposing defenders.

At 6-7 and 337 pounds, he is one of the biggest prospects in this year’s draft class. Alongside his size, he has the sort of speed and athleticism that makes it nearly impossible to get past him. While at Alabama, he allowed just five total sacks over three years as a starting offensive lineman. That should translate well early and often on the Giants.

The addition of Neal also brings flexibility to the Giants’ offensive line. While he will more than likely handle right tackle duties, he has also spent meaningful time at both the left tackle and left guard positions. Even with moving around the line, he allowed just 36 total pressures in his career. The versatility he brings to the table will be a great sight to see in the future.

The pairing of Andrew Thomas and Evan Neal solidifies the Giant’s tackle spots for the foreseeable future. This pick also allows New York to address their biggest need on the roster. The addition of Neal should also instantly improve both their run and passing games.

With the Giants electing to not pick up quarterback Daniel Jones’s fifth-year option, the addition of Neal will help Jones showcase just how good he can be. The addition of Neal will be felt instantly for this Giants team. He has the potential to be around for a very long time and should be effective early for Big Blue.
